NOT now for science in Serbia
This is sort of an update regarding one of my previous posts where I wrote about the petition to re-establish the Ministry of Science in Serbia. And I'd like to thank Nature for posting news about this on the News Blog. The most recent news that appeared on the Nature News blog regarding this very same topic is unfortunately not good.
In a nut-shell: The newly formed Serbian government has defied recommendations from the country’s scientific community:
it will not re-establish the dedicated science ministry that was abolished last year.
You can read more about it here.
Well, what to say?
The optimistic way of looking at it would be: we'll keep on fighting.
The pessimistic way would be: what's the use?
The realistic way...I don't know.
I think I'll stick to the optimistic way.
Any comments&suggestions?
thanks
P.S. If you're interested in taking part in our initiative I'd like to invite you to join the Facebook group: Science in Serbia
